What you’ll do
We are looking for a Controls Engineer to (i) get our newly commissioned First-of-a-Kind TXS-1 gas fermentation plant in Houston, Texas, running smoothly at full nameplate capacity, (ii) assist with the design and construction of our next, much larger commercial plant, and (iii) own the specification, commissioning and start-up of the the automation and supervision system of our next commercial plant.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement DCS architecture and control specifications, ensuring process security, data management, and system robustness.
Collaborate with process engineering and operations teams to capture operational philosophy by editing control narratives and cause and effect matrices (C&E).
Participate in the hazard identification workshops and capture actions in the control philosophy.
During Procurement, engage with vendors to ensure equipment compatibility with the overall control philosophy, managing the integration of the control systems across all process areas and packaged units.
Act as the primary internal resource for controls and automation, overseeing factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), loop testing, commissioning, and startup activities (including alarm setting and management).
Assist with procedure development, especially for (but not limited to) potential safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Help lead IT architecture development for the industrial site, ensuring data security and facilitating remote monitoring.
About You
Minimum Requirements
Hands-on experience with infrastructure, control systems, and process automation development. Specifically on one or more of the major DCS platforms.
Strong technical skills in automation and ability to develop tools and processes for automation engineering.
Expertise in programming PLCs and/or other types of DCS
Ability to troubleshoot automation equipment, such as sensors, control valves, VFDs, etc.
Expertise in industrial control systems, risk management, process improvement, and project management.
Preferred Requirements
Working knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles is a strong plus
Expertise in set-up of dashboards and electronic logbooks.
